California Penal Code [CPC] §192(c)(1) defines Vehicular Manslaughter – Section 192(c)(1) makes it illegal to drive a vehicle while committing an unlawful act, not amounting to a felony with gross negligence, causing a death, as well as driving any vehicle in an unlawful manner in the commission of a lawful act which might produce death, with gross negligence. Vehicular Manslaughter applies only to killings that occur without malice.
