Visiting El Dorado County Jail
The main El Dorado County jail is at 300 Forni Road in Placerville and another, smaller facility is at 1051 Al Tahoe Blvd, South Lake Tahoe.
Public Visitation Rules:
- Only ONE (1) visitor may visit an inmate at a time; exception, a minor may be escorted by the legal guardian or parent. All minor children require I.D. (i.e.: birth certificate, school I .D.). The minor’s ID must show that the child is legally that of the visitor or the inmate’s. The minor will be accompanied by parent or legal guardian at all times, unless visiting their parent.
- Visitors will be required to show a proper identification prior to visiting. Example: driver’s license, birth certificate with photo I.D., etc.
- Each visitor is allowed a Maximum of three (3) one-hour visits per week. Any portion of one hour counts as the entire One (1) hour visit.
- Each inmate is allowed a Maximum of three (3) one-hour visits per week. Any portion of one hour counts as the entire one (1) hour visit.
- Inmate workers may have unlimited amount of visits, however the visitor is limited to one (1) hour visit per day. Maximum of three visits per week. Inmate workers will not be pulled away from their work stations for visits.
