The Rio Cosumnes Jail (technically the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center) is located at 12500 Bruceville Road, Elk Grove, CA 95757 (916.874.1927). The Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center (RCCC) is the primary custody facility for inmates sentenced to County Jail from the Sacramento County and also houses overflow inmates from the main jail.

The Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center (RCCC) is the main holding facility for inmates sentenced to County Jail. A large percentage of the inmates are pre-sentence inmates who are housed at RCCC to reduce overcrowding at the Main Jail by Federal decree. The facility also houses inmates who are in transit to other jurisdictions, federal prisoners being cared for under a contract with the U.S. Bureau of Prisons, and prisoners from other counties who are being cared for under reciprocal agreements. Additionally, the RCCC is the main reception facility for parole violators being detained awaiting parole revocation hearings and the central transportation point for inmates who have been sentenced to serve time in State Prison.
Public Visitation Rules (extract):
- You and your vehicle are subject to search while on jail property. You will be searched (pat-down or metal detector).
- No more than three (3) persons may visit an inmate at a time; this includes minor children.
- You will only be allowed to bring one (1) car key or door remote, identification and money. Visitors with infants may also bring in a clear plastic bag containing one (1) infant feeding bottle, one (1) diaper, one (1) baby blanket and baby wipes. No diaper bags, food, strollers or car seats will be allowed.
- Visitors must present a valid Driver's License, DMV Photo ID Card (any U.S. State) and Mexico, Military Identification, a valid Passport or Matricula Consular (MCAS), Mexican Identification Card.
